Who are we?

Our Musical Theatre program provides a fun and encouraging environment where young performers can develop life long skills and perform for audiences. We offer a variety of opportunities ranging from beginner all the way to advanced. AMT provides students the opportunity to develop public speaking, ensemble, and improvisational skills, all of which can be used throughout many avenues in life. We also provide performance opportunities for students to show off their newly developed, or carefully crafted theatrical abilities. We offer a variety of classes designed for all kinds of performers, including vocal lessons. If your performer is just getting started, or is looking to cultivate a more advanced theatrical resume, we have a program to fit your needs. We would love to see your performer in the spotlight!

Programs and Classes We Offer

Act I

This class is designed for beginning theatre students aged 8 – 9. We will focus on techniques such as the basics of acting, stage presence, auditioning, projection, and theatre etiquette.

In this 1 hour class students will be able to perform in two separate productions. Our first performance will be a kids focused musical, where each student has a unique part and will be the stars of their own show. This will be performed in the black box theater at Allegro Dance Studio. The second performance will give your children the opportunity to be an ensemble character in our Allegro Encore’s main stage production. If your child wishes to be considered for a bigger part in our Allegro Encore, we welcome them to audition. All ages and abilities are welcome.

Act II

This class is designed for intermediate theatre students aged 10 -13. We will focus on techniques such as the basics of acting, stage presence, auditioning, projection, vocal training, theater etiquette and dancing.

In this 2 hour class students will be able to perform in two separate productions. Our first performance will be a Junior musical, where each student has a unique part and will be the stars of their own show. This will be performed in the black box theater at Allegro Dance Studio. The second performance will give your children the opportunity to be an ensemble character in our Allegro Encore’s main stage production. If your child wishes to be considered for a bigger part in our Allegro Encore, we welcome them to audition. All ages and abilities are welcome.

Act III

This class is designed for High School aged theatre students. This one hour, once a week class offers an engaging environment where students can explore the many aspects of live theatre. Performance opportunities include Improv showcases and One Acts. Students will develop advanced theatre skills and focus on improvisational abilities.

Voice

Learn to sing higher, lower, louder, softer, and with more agility. Using a variety of choral & physical exercises, we will help you find your own unique sound during this one hour, once a week class. Students will have performance opportunities such as class recitals as well as Christmas caroling. Voice is recommended for those who wish to participate in the Encore program as it provides audition preparation as well as professional vocal coaching.

Summer Camp

This one week class teaches the basics of acting and listening on stage. Improve memorization skills, increase stage presence and preparation for auditions. We will perform a play/review on Friday for our family and friends. Student must be able to read & willing to sing.

Summer Camp Registration

Encore

This audition only program is designed for performers who want to participate in a fully staged musical production, build a stronger resume, and develop beneficial life skills. Available to students ages 8 – 18; this program ends with a main stage musical performance at the Richard Brown Fine Arts Center. We will have multiple rehearsals a week that will run anywhere from 1 – 4 hours at a time. The rehearsal schedule is based on student and parent availability as well as casting. Please note that schedules will change week-to week. We highly encourage our Allegro Encore students to be enrolled in our weekly acting classes.
